Donner Lake

Though receiving far less press than its much larger sister Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake offers just as many recreational opportunities–camping, boating, skiing, fishing, and an annual triathalon–with the added bonus of considerably smaller crowds to contend with. Its infamous history aside, it’s not a bad place for you and your party to get stranded for the season.
